Planning a wedding can be tough. We all know that. We’ve seen every movie, repinned every Pinterest and watched every DIY video. No one however, tells you how to persevere and survive on the day of your wedding. What happens if my dress rips or if the mother of the groom and bride get into an all out boxing match? Trust us, we’ve seen and dealt with it all. In this wedding blog post, we disclose the tips, tricks and secrets our Toronto brides have shared with us and we’ve shared with them at our banquet hall about getting through your wedding day.

The most important tip we can give you is to pack what we call a BRIDAL BAG. Everything listed below can go into this bag and stay with you or in your bridal suite. Here’s our wedding day checklist!

Flip flops or Comfortable Flats

Heels can be troublesome from morning, noon and night. Your feet will get tired no matter how much you suffer for fashion. Heels will work for your pictures and first couple of dances but once those are over, opt for a more comfortable shoe like a wedged flip flop, platform sneaker or casual flats. You will be able to get through the night, one step at a time.

Perfume and Deodorant

Yes we all know to put these things on in the morning, but when you are running around from pictures, to tables, to the dance floor you are going to be working up a sweat. It’s important to pack deodorant and perfume in your bridal bag so that you can reapply throughout the day and evening. No one wants a stinky bride!

Snacks and Water

Make sure to pack small snacks and a water bottle because it is extremely important you stay nourished and hydrated throughout the long, eventful day. We’ve had brides faint and collapse at the altar from dehydration. It is very hard to find anything to eat during the day, so pack snacks like almonds, crackers or veggies to keep your energy up.

In Case of Emergency

Always put extra bobby pins, hairspray, lipstick, and a sewing kit into your bridal bag. You never know when you’ll need the extra touch up or stitch.

Tide to Go and White Out

Someone is bound to spill or make up is destined to smudge. It’s always a good idea to have a Tide to Go stick lying around so make sure to pack it. White out is a secret trick for the groomsmen’s collars. Sometimes they will shave too closely to their skin, which can make a mess of their white collars. White out is the perfect solution to cover up any mistake!

Breath Mints

There will be no time for you to brush you teeth, so make sure to pack tic tacs or any other kind of mint. Not only will you be kissing your groom, but you will be talking to many people throughout the night and will need to have your freshest breath.
