You’ve been proposed to, picked your wedding venue (look into our Toronto and Vaughan banquet hall) and are now on the hunt for a dress. Next comes one of the harder tasks-choosing your bridesmaids. No matter how large or how small your bridal party is going to be, it’s always fun to ask your gals or guys in a fun and creative way. This idea of “will you be my bridesmaid?” is a newer fad and one that has sparked a lot of interests in our current bride-to-bes. The best inspiration can always be found on Etsy, an artisan online market. In this wedding blog post, we will share some of our favourite ways to pop the question for asking your best friends to be your bridesmaids.
Missing Picture Frames
Get a double frame and in one slot put a picture of you and your best friend and in the other blank frame write, “IOU one wedding photo.” Make sure to write a heartfelt message on the back that speaks to your friendship and end it off with asking him/her to be your bridesmaid or groomsmen.
Cute Cookies
Do your friends love a good old fashioned sugar cookie? There are tons of local bakeries or grocery stores that will shape cookies into rings, dresses, or a bouquet of flowers. Give this along with a card to ask that special someone to be a part of your wedding party. Check out The Rolling Pin Toronto that not only make custom orders but also have an amazingly delicious selection of wedding cakes, wedding favours or sweet table ideas.
Say it with Wine
If wine is a common passion between your friends, invite them over for a wine and cheese night. Then, present them with cute personalized wine bottles. They are available from at around $20 a bottle. The company makes it super easy by choosing a design for a label and a photo and they do the rest! Check them out at their Etsy store iCustomWine here!
Cosmetic Bags
What cuter and more practical way to ask your bridesmaid to be, than with a monogrammed cosmetic bag. These are perfect for the day of the wedding as they can carry all the essential make up and necessary toiletries. These are available on Allisa Jacobs’ Etsy store.
Survival Kit
Get crafty by making your own bridesmaid survival kit. You can use boxes, silk bags or miniature suitcases. Fill it with all the necessary day of items a girl or guy could need. Items like, a sewing kit, tissue, gum, mints, a flask and safety pins.
Cards
When in doubt always use a card. There are tons of customized cards at Hallmark or better yet, make your own. The homemade feel will be more personalized and special for your bridesmaid to be.
