Couscous

Couscous is a North African dish. It is made from semolina which is durham wheat.It is usually prepared steamed.

Every culture has its own unique way of preparing couscous. It is an alternative to rice, poatoes and pasta as a side dish. Moraccons use saffron, Algerians use tomatoes and Tunisians add harissa.

Couscous can be purchased as an instant and cooked in boiling water or it can be natural and require a couscoussiier for cooking.

Couscous pairs with meat, poultry or fish. It is vegetarian friendly and has many nutritional components. It has gained in popularity recently and is the third favourite food in France.
