The Avenue Banquet Hall in support of The 12th Annual “It’s Always Something” Variety Show and Gala

The Avenue Banquet Hall has been providing clients with an excellent level of service and a unique experience for more than a decade and has been doing everything it can to give back to our community by donating our services to worthy causes throughout Toronto. With this in mind we are proud to announce that we will be donating our catering services to the 12th Annual “It’s Always Something Variety Show and Gala” in support of Gilda’s Club of Greater Toronto to take place at The Sony Center Nov. 16th, 2013.

Gilda’s Club of Greater Toronto is an organization founded to honour the memory of Gilda Radner who lost her battle with ovarian caner in 1989. While she was in treatment she visited a support community in Los Angeles, where she found herself bonding with other people going through the same experience as her. It was Gilda’s dream that communities such as that exist all over the world so that anyone whose lives had been touched by cancer could have a support network. The first Gilda’s Club opened in New York City in 1995, and the Toronto branch opened its doors in 2001.

Each year the It’s Always Something Variety Show brings together the brightest comedians, performers, singers and dancers to put on a truly spectacular show in support of the Gilda’s Club and all the work they do providing services to those battling cancer and those touched by it. The past shows presenters and entertainers included Nelly Furtado and Eric McCormack and Glass Tiger.

Gilda’s Club of Greater Toronto has been dedicated to support, networking, education and arts programming for children, youth and adults in all stages of the cancer journey. Offering camp experiences for kids touched by cancer and giving them the opportunity to escape the stresses that a cancer diagnosis brings to the family is only one of the many services and activities GCGT provides. These wonderful services are only possible of course through fund-raising. The Avenue Banquet Hall is extremely grateful to be counted among those who pledge their time and money to support such endeavors.

The Avenue Banquet Hall and all it’s staff would ask that you do likewise with your time or donations as you are able, and please join us in giving something back to the community that gives us so very much. We will be present at the gala with our own Mash Potato Martini Bar and look forward to seeing you there. We wish all the best health and happiness to you and yours in the upcoming event season.
